Dr. Angeliki Pesiridou received her medical degree at the University of Padua in Italy and completed her residency training in adult psychiatry at Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan, NY (formerly know as Saint Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital). Dr. Pesiridou completed her sex therapy training at the University of Michigan. She is trained both in medication management and psychotherapy of multiple psychiatric disorders, her approach is behavioral, as she holds certification in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and is proficient in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and short-term dynamic psychotherapy.


Dr. Pesiridou was born and raised in Athens, Greece, studied medicine in Padua, Italy and has travelled the world extensively. She speaks English, Spanish, Italian and Greek fluently and can practice medication management and psychotherapy in those languages. Being an immigrant herself, Dr. Pesiridou provides culturally sensitive treatment and addresses immigration trauma and cultural identity issues.


As a former director of mental health at Callen Lorde, an LGBTQIA+ center in Manhattan, Dr. Pesiridou has gained extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population. She is able to conduct evaluations and write letters for gender marker changes, hormone therapy, and gender affirming surgery procedures. Furthermore she completed her certification in sex therapy, working with non-monogamy/polyamory, BDSM/Kink, relationship issues, sex therapy, sex work and trauma issues.


In addition her years of working at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Philadelphia PA have provided Dr. Pesiridou with exposure to a variety of different disorders. She is comfortable and proficient at treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders as well as substance use disorders.
